Working with our minds in meditation allows us to live with more love, joy and happiness. Essentially it allows us to get the most out of life, while letting go of what no longer serves us.

The burgeoning field of contemplative neuroscience has proven what sages have known for centuries... that meditation literally rewires the brain for well being.

Starting a practice
Just do it. Meditation, like exercise, has the potential and dramatically change your life experience. Like exercise, the benefits increase with the amount of time and energy you give your practice. It also involves discipline, particularlily at first weeks when the benefits haven't quite surfaced. Later on, it becomes second nature, like brushing your teeth. You don't feel quite "right" without it.
Like any good habit, it takes a 21 days to get meditation fixed into your your daily life. During this time, and throughout your practice, there are tools to keep you motivated. Here are a few that have worked for me.
