Why meditate
Meditation is an efficient way to work with your mind, to improve good qualities such as peace of mind, patience and a kind heart. Working with our minds in meditation allows us to live with more love, joy and happiness. Essentially it allows us to get the most out of life, while letting go of what no longer serves us.
Really?
Our knowledge and understanding of the mind has improved dramatically in the last 15 years, and unprecendented advances in our ability to look into our brains have allowed to see the effects of meditation in real time. The burgeoning field of contemplative neuroscience has proven what sages have known for centuries... that meditation literally rewires the brain for well being.
Our philosophy
We are dedicated to helping you with your meditation practice. This might be to help you get started, reinspire you along the road or support you with materials or teachers you need to go further and deeper with your practice. Meditation has been shown to improve our good qualities, to make our minds quiet, more peaceful. It brings about dramatic change in people and allows us to live more fully.
Starting a practice
Just do it. Meditation, like exercise, has the potential and dramatically change your life experience. Like exercise, the benefits increase with the amount of time and energy you give your practice. It also involves discipline, particularlily at first weeks when the benefits haven't quite surfaced. Later on, it becomes second nature, like brushing your teeth. You don't feel quite "right" without it.
Like any good habit, it takes a 21 days to get meditation fixed into your your daily life. During this time, and throughout your practice, there are tools to keep you motivated. Here are a few that have worked for me.
